Where to have Tech 2 TIS2000 Software for free & how to use it?

The post starts with a question: I have a clone Tech2 purchased recently that came with "TIS200 Software". Turns out the "software is only a PDF file and cannot program the unit.

Answer: As for what came with the clone, are you sure it just a PDF file, and not a file that needs to be decompressed with something like 7-zip to produce the three iso's and the dongle crack folder with instructions?

When to use TIS200 Software?
Tis2000 is only used for SPS programming, and the Tech II is put into pass through mode when using such.
On export vets, you have to use SPS programming for programming in fobs, since the key in the cylinder does not work on them.

How to use TIS200 Software?
need to run under XP,.
So the short version, build a VM shell in XP with something like VM work station on your win 10 machine, load the three discs to the VM shell, install the crack, then build the driver.
If your laptop does not have a RS232 port, then will need to buy the needed usb cable to connect the Tech II to the laptop, and make sure to install the needed USB driver into the the XP shell as well.
Drivers are listed about half way down on the page.

When I did service programming, I went to the website, downloaded the java app they supply (that contains your paid subscription information so it'll run), and ran it. All I used was a web browser and I re-initialized PCMs.

Upon paying the subscription fee, I was given a login. From there, each time I'd request SPS, it would make me download a serialized piece of java code that did the pass through to the Tech2. Once on my desktop, I'd double click to run and that was it. All the CDs and other bs were irrelevant.

As for the cracked Tis2000 (all three disc's and dongle crack), pretty easy to find for free on the web with a search to download it for free. or the payable and reliable source:

How To Fix GM Tech2 Stopped In “Tech 2 post Ver 6.2”

My husband bought one of your tech 2 scanners. When we plug it in and turn it on it says system initializing. Then goes to a screen that says tech 2 post ver 6.2 if 10 items that say passed. It will not go out of this screen. I believe its not making connection with the card for the software.

I do have pictures of what its doing, these are the only image the tool gives me. It does this with and without the card in it. I have also attached pictures of the inside of the device where the card goes and the card. I believe they are not making a connection with each other .

Finally Solved!!!
I found that the memory card had a couple of plugged holes. I tried opening they holes up and was also able to straighten the pins in the tech 2 device. I finally got the card to connect with the tech 2 correctly and now everything seems to be working. Thanks for your help.

CM Tech2 Review: TIS2000 Installation Solutions

I bought a gm tech 2 which can diagnose vehicle by myself. I had been confused by various car problems in a long time, because I could not figure out them myself sometimes and tired of service departments not knowing what’s going on.

Sometimes I feel that I’m actually even smarter than most techs that work in the service departments at dealerships. And if I’m not any smarter, at least I’ll care more, and take the time to figure it out because it’s my own vehicle.

I had looked through lots of diagnostic tools, GM tech 2 diagnostic scan tool seemed the best one of them and so it is.

I received the tool with TIS2000 CD for TECH2 GM Car Model Software which can support for till 2007 year GM car programming.

The Tech 2 unit (handset) can be used to interrogate the various management modules on the car (ECU) to report status, fault codes and perform manual activation and monitoring in the event of fault occurrences/engine management light occurrences. This in itself is incredibly useful, but it is also possible to reprogram modules within the car to change various functions and add or replace faulty modules and programme keys. Whilst the diagnosis side can be performed standalone, to be able to actually change settings on the car, Tech 2 ‘Security Access’ is required, which means activating the Tech 2 handset via PC software.
Tech 2 unit

Software installed:

Install the GM TIS2000 application (needs to be Windows XP, 32-bit operating system). There are normally two discs. One is the app, the other is the GM update disc, which is not required. If this is the case, install the first disc only but don’t run up the application on completion. If you didn’t get it with a clone, you can get a copy with the USB dongle. If prompted to select a registration method, select USB Key and OK the prompts.
All that is now required is to activate the software to get security access (enable Tech 2 programming). To do this you’ll need a USB key and patch available from the same sources as the clone Tech 2 units.

There is a video:

Hardware issues:

You can check you have RS232 COMMS using the GM TIS2000 install and going into the Tech 2 View option. Don’t mess about with serial port settings etc as if there is a physical connection there it will work without interference. pins 4 and 5 of the RS485&RS232 socket are actually used.
