(Solved)GM TECH2 error “NO CANDI Communication Established"

Used GM Tech2 to diagnose Saab, Tech2 can’t find CANDI module, have error message: “NO CANDI Communication Established“.

The solution:
  1. Confirm you plugged the Candi adapter into the car and the Tech 2 before powering up.
  2. Disconnect the connector leaving the CANDI adapter going to the OBD port. Plug it back in and ensure it’s real snug, then plug it into the OBD port. I needs to do this every now and then with my clone one. Usually it works after. Suspect the pins aren’t making the best contact.
Tech support from professionals:
  1. With the car ignition off, connect the GM Tech2 and CANdi module.Power up the Tech.

  1. You’ll get 12V from the DLC (now it takes me a half hour to find the “DLC means” Data Link Connector “and is what we also call the OBD2 connector, so be prepared to be stumped by TLA’s (Three Letter Acronyms)
  2. At the main menu press F3-tool options

  1. At the tool options screen select F9, CANdi Diagnostics

  1. There are two tests on the next screen, run them both. The CANDI should talk to your 2004+ car

  1. Either turn the ignition key of the car, or start it (for a C6 there is not an “on”).

  1. Select the EXIT button until the Tech 2 goes back to the main menu.

  1. Select F0, Diagnostics.

  1. Ensure you want to look at the module. You may be choosing body style; You may need the body code (sometimes the third character in the VIN) You may also be asked about certain options, like ZL6. They are on a tag in the glovebox.
  2. After that you will be able to play with the Tech2 clone.
IMPORTANT: Sometimes, it’s just problem with candi, as when using on other cars without candi, it’s just perfect. So you should have a good candi such as . It’s just better, but still needs to connect a few times. So you can buy another card 148. If not totally solved, rewrite the card to 143 and 136. Both work fine. That is, 148 is no good for candi. Could be corrupted software, or the card problem. These cards coming together with Tech 2 are not good sometimes. You’d better but china knock-offs from a man of his word to trust in. www.obdexpress.co.uk customer service is such a man.

Where to have Tech 2 TIS2000 Software for free & how to use it?

The post starts with a question: I have a clone Tech2 purchased recently that came with "TIS200 Software". Turns out the "software is only a PDF file and cannot program the unit.

Answer: As for what came with the clone, are you sure it just a PDF file, and not a file that needs to be decompressed with something like 7-zip to produce the three iso's and the dongle crack folder with instructions?

When to use TIS200 Software?
Tis2000 is only used for SPS programming, and the Tech II is put into pass through mode when using such.
On export vets, you have to use SPS programming for programming in fobs, since the key in the cylinder does not work on them.

How to use TIS200 Software?
need to run under XP,.
So the short version, build a VM shell in XP with something like VM work station on your win 10 machine, load the three discs to the VM shell, install the crack, then build the driver.
If your laptop does not have a RS232 port, then will need to buy the needed usb cable to connect the Tech II to the laptop, and make sure to install the needed USB driver into the the XP shell as well.
Drivers are listed about half way down on the page.
https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/communications/serial/industrial_usb/usb-rs232;jsessionid=ca26ee08559e554aa707790537515048

When I did service programming, I went to the website, downloaded the java app they supply (that contains your paid subscription information so it'll run), and ran it. All I used was a web browser and I re-initialized PCMs.

Upon paying the subscription fee, I was given a login. From there, each time I'd request SPS, it would make me download a serialized piece of java code that did the pass through to the Tech2. Once on my desktop, I'd double click to run and that was it. All the CDs and other bs were irrelevant.

As for the cracked Tis2000 (all three disc's and dongle crack), pretty easy to find for free on the web with a search to download it for free. or the payable and reliable source:

How To Fix GM Tech2 Stopped In “Tech 2 post Ver 6.2”

My husband bought one of your tech 2 scanners. When we plug it in and turn it on it says system initializing. Then goes to a screen that says tech 2 post ver 6.2 if 10 items that say passed. It will not go out of this screen. I believe its not making connection with the card for the software.

I do have pictures of what its doing, these are the only image the tool gives me. It does this with and without the card in it. I have also attached pictures of the inside of the device where the card goes and the card. I believe they are not making a connection with each other .

Finally Solved!!!
I found that the memory card had a couple of plugged holes. I tried opening they holes up and was also able to straighten the pins in the tech 2 device. I finally got the card to connect with the tech 2 correctly and now everything seems to be working. Thanks for your help.

Tech 2 TIS2000 Crack Dowbnload&How To Install On WIN XP/7/8

This guide of where to donwload GM Tech 2 TIS2000 software and how to install it.Free version all from Customer support,Big thanks!
TIS2000 free Software
Tested version:
TIS2000 with Dongle (working perfect)
How to install TIS2000 software:
Customer solutions.. here you go…try on your own risk

TIS2000 Window XP:
  1. Installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP3. I didn’t bother with updating anything else as far as security updates to Windows or install a virus scan because this computer will never be connected to the Internet or used for anything else.2. Installed ALL the required drivers until there were no more yellow check marks in Device Manager. I failed to do this at first and caused a lot of headaches later, including a BSOD during software installation.3. If you’re using a USB to serial adapter, plug it in now and set it up. Go into Device Manager and make note of the COM port used by the adapter.3. Install the Tis2000 software from the CD included with the Tech2. During the install, it will ask you to specify the COM port. If you have a serial port on the computer, it’s probably COM 1 or use the one from the USB adapter.
    4. Before you can use Tis2000 with your Tech2, you have to make it “think” that there is a dongle connected that authorizes it. You can download the crack below. Follow the read me file for instructions on how to use it.
    That’s it.

TIS2000 Windows 8 32 bit:
However, if you have a 32-bit copy of Windows 8 installed (I don’t wanna know why you do), running 16-bit applications are disabled by default. You can enable it by going to Control Panel and clicking on 16-bit Application Support then clicking Enable.

TIS2000 Windows 7 with XP Virtual PC:
For those of you with genuine copies of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate with a multi-core processor (who doesn’t run Win7 on a multi-core these days); these versions of Windows 7 allow you to use Windows Virtual PC, which lets you virtually run Windows XP Pro without a disc or OS installation. You need to install Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC in order to use it. Before you can download these updates, M$ makes you run a little .exe that checks if your OS install is legitimate. Anyway, after you get that all installed and XP Mode is booted, you can copy the OP’s cracked TIS2000.zip over to the WinXP Desktop and follow the README.txt inside to install it. Here is a link with the cracked TIS2000http://www.obd2eshop.com/wholesale/tis2000-cd-and-usb-key-for-gm-tech2-gm-car-model-software.html…I have tested this on my desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and the cracked copy of TIS2000 the OP posted installed and ran with no problems. Instructions for Win7 XP Pro virtualization mode here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w…e-in-windows-7

TIS2000 software Window 64 bit or 32 bit:
64-bit versions of Windows contain backwards compatibility with 32-bit applications, but not with 16-bit applications. And 32-bit versions of Windows are backwards compatible with 16-bit applications. The problem with installing TIS2000 on newer machines is that, while the TIS2000 program itself is 32-bit, the installer and drivers are 16-bit. Therefore, you are able to install TIS2000 natively on ANY 32-bit Windows system. This will just work, without having to run anything in compatibility mode.

Now to the most common problem:
If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 Home Premium or lower, or ALL versions of Windows 8 and 8.1, I guess any version of Mac or Linux too, you have a couple of more involved and more risky options…
You can obtain a copy of Windows 2000 or XP Pro 32-bit. It includes two programs for making a bootable CD or USB drive. Pop the bootable device you created into your laptop, reboot to the device, then install that operating system onto a seperate partition of your hard drive, or a different hdd altogether. Or you can install Virtualbox (free software), and run the cracked Windows copy via a virtual machine… The method I took to test this was to create a separate partition on my ssd and install it there. When the computer reboots, it will ask you what OS you would like to run. Select Windows XP Pro, then continue installing TIS2000 software. If you’re gonna be writing to the main drive on your computer, I suggest first creating a bootable USB with Clonezilla on it and creating a drive backup with that http://clonezilla.org/downloads.php  …This allows you to make a complete backup image of your hard drive, and allows you to flash it back to that drive at any time. A good thing to have around anyway.

VXDIAG VCX NANO GM + TIS2000:
IT works!! ok for anyone trying to use the VXDIAG GM nano with SPS this is what you need to do (order is important):
*** please note you cannot use the VM that the VXDIAG package comes with (GDS2 VM). It’s configured in such a way it won’t work with the dongle crack and caused me a lot of head scratching to find this out.
  1. Create awindowsXP 32bit VM using VMWare Player
  2. Make sure you add an LPT port (set to auto, not connected on startup). It doesn’t matter if your actual PC has an LPT port or not this is needed for the dongle crack later.
  3. Install VMWare tools for your VM
  4. After you have the windows VM up and running install the BOSH MDI drivers found here: http://www.boschdiagnostics.com/pro/soft…-and-mdi-2(the MDI drivers on the driver disk andvxmanagerinstaller wouldn’t install on myxp32bit VM but the one from bosh does).
  5. From the driver disk or from allscanner.com install the VXDIAG MDI package with pass thru driver (VXDIAG MDI manager or VXDIAG Manager)
Download tis_data_1.iso, tis_data_2.iso, GM-NAO-TIS200-3_2008.iso, TIS2000DongleCrack.rar from this: http://auto-professionals.co/?dl=5847273d53a0b0635724a7b3e1626ef7(password: mhhauto) or buy a tested TIS2000 crack such as http://www.obd2eshop.com/wholesale/tis2000-cd-and-usb-key-for-gm-tech2-gm-car-model-software.html and the like
  1. (files / instructionsin the updated.txt you may need to click the link more than once if you get an error when downloading)
  2. Mount the tis_data_1.iso in your VM (use the virtual cdrom in vmware player and attach to iso file) this will start the auto install of the TIS2000 2007.3 software)
  3. All options can be installed using the default selectionshowevermake sure you check the install checkbox above the parallel security device on the one screen.
  4. After installation is complete you can extract the TIS2000DongleCrack.rar and copy the folder to the desktop of your VM
  5. Go into the TIS2000DongleCrack folder locate the drivers folder and open it, run the DDINST32.EXE (if you get a registry error you didn’t install an LPT port in your VM), select Express and it should install the files then click ok / Exit to close.
  6. Go back to the main TIS2000DongleCrack folder and copy SCAControlUI.exe and Id.dll to c:\Program Files\cosids\bin\ (it will prompt to replace id.dll select yes).
  7. Go back to the main TIS2000DongleCrack folder into the Dongle folder and copy the 2 files in there to c:\windows\system32\ (the dongle crack is now installed)
  8. Now mount the tis_data_2.iso in your VM (use the virtual cdrom in vmware player and attach to iso file) and open TIS2000 (double click the icon on your desktop) when TIS opens it will ask you if you want to upgrade click yes.
  9. After the upgrade completes mount the GM-NAO-TIS200-3_2008.iso in your VM (use the virtual cdrom in vmwareplayer and attach to iso file) and open TIS2000 ( double click the icon on your desktop) when TIS opens it will ask you if you want to upgrade click yes.
  10. After the upgrade completes you have successfully installed TIS2000 2008.3 and the Dongle crack, now we need to configure TIS to use the VXDIAG GM nano
  11. Open TIS2000 from the icon on your desktop, select Configuration menu from the top and select IO Management.
  12. Click the Driver button, click the Browse button, locate the j2534.dll file in the window and click open (installs the J2534Pass Thru Driver)
  13. Now click the Add button (in IO management) enter exacly “Generic Pass Thru” in Logical Name and select “J2534Pass Thru Driver” in the Driver drop down, click OK.
  14. Select Generic Pass Thru in the list and click Properties, in the Device Name drop down select VXDIAG, (ALLScanner) and click ok then click close to close IO Management.
Now TIS2000 software is installed and configured all you have to do is connect your VXDIAG device to the PC / VM. To do this first use a usb and connect it to the PC then in the VMWare player menu go in removable devices and connect the Future Devices USB to serial converter. At this step my windows install didn’t have the basic usb to serial drivers so I connected the VM to the network (if not connected use the VMWare player menu to connect the network) and windows downloaded them from the net and installed the device as com3. you are now good to go.
At this point you can now click on SPS in TIS2000 select Generic Pass Thru as your device and your good to program!!
Satisfied, VXDIAG VCX NANO GM device works as a clone to the GM MDI.

Real user of GM Tech2 Scanner think highly of OBD2eShop

This was my order of GM Tech2 Diagnostic Scanner with TIS2000 Software:
Order Date: Aug 26, 2018
Ship to: United States
This is how GM Tech2 looks out of the box:

GM Tech2 Scanner

Turned on:
GM Tech2 Scanner

The following 3 paragraphs are what I mail to OBD2Eshop:
I tested device and it works well. Problem is the screen. I believe for return I would have to send back and pay for shipping. This would take a long time and I have work to do using the tool.
gm tech 2 screen
Right now I am using a laptop connected so I can see the full screen

I would rather do partial refund or try replacing the screen myself.
Will you do a partial refund?
Can you send or help me find a replacement screen?
I have been happy so far with OBD2eShop so far. The price, service and shipping speed was good.
I hope we can reach a positive solution.

Finally, OBD2eShop ship me a new package.
Just want to let you know, I finally took the time to really test out the replacement I was sent and it appears to work perfectly.

One small issue is that I was sent a GM PC Card and not a Saab one. I tried to write the GM Card in my laptop to Saab software but I ended up damaging the card. It was my fault. I know that I could have contacted you for help and you would have taken care of me.

I was able to find another Saab Card and get it working so I am very happy now. I do not need any more help.

Thank you so much for your above and beyond service. I think very highly of your store.
(😁😁😁hhhhhhh,OBD2Eshop also thanks for your credit)
Here is the new package OBD2eShop ship to me:

How to install TIS2000 for Saab (TIS2008-2) for Tech 2

For anyone happy using TIS2000 for Saab (TIS2008-2) follow these steps:
First, get your hands on a Tech 2 handset, CANDI and cables etc. Make sure you are confident that your serial connections are good.
1. You will need a TIS2000 USB key and patch for activation (can be bought for little money or sourced elsewhere)
2. Download and install TIS2000 for GM/NAO. You may be prompted to install the USB key – just follow the steps. When finished, don’t run the TIS2000 program.
3. Download Saab TIS2008-2. Insert into same physical/virtual CD drive you installed the TIS2000 GM from (drive letter needs to be the same).
4. Launch TIS2000 from desktop icon/start menu
5. TIS2000 should detect available update (Saab TIS-2008). OK this and let it run.
6. If you haven’t installed the USB key and patch do this now.
7. Launch TIS2000 and click on SPS or security access to ensure it works
8. Enjoy!
I believe this will allow re-programming of models up to 2008 only, so if you have a later model, you’ll probably need GlobalTIS.
If you’ve bought a clone Tech 2 unit I’d recommend throwing away the supplied flat RJ45/ethernet cable and replacing it with a standard ethernet cable (not cross-over) as mine was faulty and caused many headaches! The correct pin-out is provided by the RJ45 to D9 adaptor. For those interested, only pins 4 and 5 on the RJ45 socket are used (TX/RX).

IMPORTANT:
You may well have a couple of issues getting the software running initially. If your web browser refuses to connect to the TIS2Web service, it’s likely that one of the two GlobalTIS services are not running. To fix this, open the ‘services’ console either by
Start>Run and type “services.msc”
OR
Right-click ‘My Computer” select ‘Manage’ and drill down to the services icon on the left pane.
There are two services that should be running and they’ve got obvious names, something like GlobalTIS and TC6 (not near my TIS PC at the moment) and sit next to each other in the services list. In the information pane they should say ‘started’. If not, right-click and select ‘start’. If this fails with an error, try modifying the registry key below.
To open registry editor Start>Run regedit BE CAREFUL MODIFYING THE REGISTRY – YOU CAN REALLY SCREW YOUR PC UP!!!!!
In the left pane, expand the keys until you find the following
HKLM\Software\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun2.0\Global TISTC6\Parameters\Java\JvmMx
Change the value of this key from 0X0000044 to 0X00000200 and exit the registry. Try to restart the service – you should find it now works. Don’t ask me why, I got this fix from another forum – fair play to the guy who found it.
Hope this helps someone!

CM Tech2 Review: TIS2000 Installation Solutions

I bought a gm tech 2 which can diagnose vehicle by myself. I had been confused by various car problems in a long time, because I could not figure out them myself sometimes and tired of service departments not knowing what’s going on.

Sometimes I feel that I’m actually even smarter than most techs that work in the service departments at dealerships. And if I’m not any smarter, at least I’ll care more, and take the time to figure it out because it’s my own vehicle.

I had looked through lots of diagnostic tools, GM tech 2 diagnostic scan tool seemed the best one of them and so it is.

I received the tool with TIS2000 CD for TECH2 GM Car Model Software which can support for till 2007 year GM car programming.

The Tech 2 unit (handset) can be used to interrogate the various management modules on the car (ECU) to report status, fault codes and perform manual activation and monitoring in the event of fault occurrences/engine management light occurrences. This in itself is incredibly useful, but it is also possible to reprogram modules within the car to change various functions and add or replace faulty modules and programme keys. Whilst the diagnosis side can be performed standalone, to be able to actually change settings on the car, Tech 2 ‘Security Access’ is required, which means activating the Tech 2 handset via PC software.
Tech 2 unit

Software installed:

Install the GM TIS2000 application (needs to be Windows XP, 32-bit operating system). There are normally two discs. One is the app, the other is the GM update disc, which is not required. If this is the case, install the first disc only but don’t run up the application on completion. If you didn’t get it with a clone, you can get a copy with the USB dongle. If prompted to select a registration method, select USB Key and OK the prompts.
All that is now required is to activate the software to get security access (enable Tech 2 programming). To do this you’ll need a USB key and patch available from the same sources as the clone Tech 2 units.

There is a video:

Hardware issues:

You can check you have RS232 COMMS using the GM TIS2000 install and going into the Tech 2 View option. Don’t mess about with serial port settings etc as if there is a physical connection there it will work without interference. pins 4 and 5 of the RS485&RS232 socket are actually used.
